Young People

That first step of talking about your feelings or telling somebody what you’ve been going through can be tough. But at Future SELPH, we’re here to listen and help you make sense of it all.

Each of our community teams provides a range of tailored services designed to improve your health and wellbeing, your way. And they’re completely free and confidential too. You’ll always find a safe space to express yourself without worries with us.

Find your nearest team

To get started, use the map below to choose a community team that’s convenient for you. Click on the community team to read more about it and the types of support it provides.

      Refer yourself

It’s quick and easy to refer yourself to one of our community teams. Just contact the team that’s convenient for you. You can find their contact details on the map above.

If you don’t feel able to contact the team yourself, a professional or parent/carer can do it for you.

      A professional could be:

      • A doctor or nurse at your GP practice
      • A social prescriber
      • A mental health worker
      • A social worker
      • Someone at your school or college
      • Someone from the job centre

      Your first meeting

Once we receive your referral, we will contact you within a few days for an initial meeting where we can chat through what difficulties you’ve been having.

From there, we can start working on a plan to address those challenges together and talk to you about the types of support available so you can decide on what you feel might be best.

Unsure about what’s best for you? That’s okay. You don’t need to decide before contacting us.

      Giving your consent

Future SELPH is a confidential service. We will not share any information about you with anyone else, unless you ask us to or agree for us to do so. By providing us with your personal information, you consent to the collection and use of that information for the purposes described in our privacy policy. As we are a service that has been funded by Conexus Healthcare, we are covered by the privacy policy that they use for their clinical services. Read the policy here. This will take you away from the Future SELPH website.

      Urgent and extra support

NHS Talking Therapies can be helpful if you are feeling down, worried, depressed or anxious. You can access confidential talking therapies for free on the NHS and refer yourself directly without a referral from a GP or Future SELPH can help you. Turning Point is your local NHS Talking Therapies service.

It doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, if something doesn’t feel right and it feels urgent for you, 24-hour advice and support is available. The important thing to know is you will not be wasting anyone’s time.
